On the way to meet M at the opening Gala film of the ReelOut festival I was walking through the park and a fox ran out of the park across the street and toward campus?! It was the craziest and coolest things I have seen in a long time!
I met up with M and we grabbed our seats. The short before the feature was called Dinx and it was really funny, then the feature was Were the World Mine, it was fantastic! I think everyone should see it. It was just campy enough and sweet and funny! Check it out!

This is Something You Should Read!

I just finished reading RASL: The Drift this morning. It is volume one in Jeff Smith's new comic series. I'm really looking forward to volume two.
I've also been on a bit of a Jason Lutes kick and have recently read Jar of Fools, and books one and two of his Berlin series. They were all fantastic! Berlin is especially amazing and if you are interested in history it's a great way to learn about German between the world wars.

Milk

Milk just arrived in Kingston this week and SAS and I saw it this afternoon. I really didn't know much about Harvey Milk, but the film was fantastic. It really drove home the absolute frustration of Prop 8 passing in November's election.
I think that anyone interested in Human Rights and Social Justice should see this.

Keeping my Head down
Things have been insanely busy over the past few weeks with 3 jobs on the go and a few design projects as well.
I have been doing a few creative things and wanted to post an invite I designed for SAS's dad. He has an art exhibit coming up in February in Brockville. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

I also finished up two conference posters for the Office of Interprofessional Education & Practice at Queen's University here in Kingston. They are 3' x 6' so I won't post an image.
Classes have been going pretty well. Prep time is a lot more than I thought it would be, but I think it will get easier as I get more experience under my belt.
I have lots to keep me busy!

Photo a Day for 10 years

Check out Jeff Harris and his photo a day project. He has been doing it for 10 years. It's a neat idea.

New Year = New Adventures
Along with the resolutions of eating better, exercising more and buying much less. I have added be a brave, exciting and engaging teacher.
It's true Monday I will teach my first class in Design History. I'm excited, nervous and cautiously optimistic about the whole thing.
Along with the teaching position I will be doing some design work on a project at Queen's University and I will have finished up my time as an office assistant by the end of the month. All of this means more creative time and hopefully more inspiration.
I am looking forward to the new year, it may in fact be the first time that January has felt like the start of a year, usually September feels that way.
Wish me luck ;)
