Invites

I've been working away on wedding invitations for my friends Allie & Gareth. Below it the save the date that I did. Allie, glued little diamond jewels in all of the rings and put magnets on the back! The idea behind this was their engagement story. Gareth proposed with the ring on a strawberry plant!

Allie is a big Etsy fan and has been sending me all kinds of links to invites and jewelry for inspiration. I have been wanting an excuse to do some hand rendered type and I think that the following is what I'm going to use for the type. Now, on to the little woodland/forest creatures!

Check back soon ;)

A Photo Shoot

Yesterday SAS, Shawn and I went out for a drive and Shawn took us to this abandoned race track just off of Division Street. We took a ton of photos and I've just started playing with them. This was one that I intended to make a panorama with, but the photos don't really line up at all so I just sandwiched them together. It looks neat in both full colour and monochrome.

Mail Excitement!

SAS and I were out doing errands this morning and we arrived home to very exciting mail! (for me)

I was expecting to get my Magic order from Star City Games - perfect timing as M and I are playing tonight - but I wasn't expecting to get a traveling journal! I have game fun and doodling to look forward to!

Boring US Postal Service envelope.

Fancy Karina journal wrapping!

Recharging

I've been feeling a bit crap the past few weeks. I picked up some kind of stomach bug and have caught a touch of SAS's cold despite sleeping on the couch.

We've been laying low and I have been reading like a fiend. I recently finished Rabbi's Cat 2, and Burma Chronicles and am nearly done with Uglies.

I also had a lot of fun last week playing Magic with my friend Michael (it had literally been over a decade) and have been trying to figure out what the game is like with all the 'new' stuff that I've never seen before. I was considering going to the local comic/game shop to get some new cards, just to check out the artwork and such, but I had no idea what I'd be asking for. I hate that it's always so testosteroney in there.

There has been some serious slacking in the creative department, but the recharge is much needed and I hope to be back on track in the next few days.
