I wanted to make some lower price point items for the women's art fest and thought that coasters might be a good way to go. This was my first stab at them and they turned out quite well. The navy fabric was purchased at the Workroom in Toronto and was hand printed!
After many months of contemplating and work this set of 3 commissioned pieces was delivered last week. They are wall hangings that may be getting framed (I will update with framed photos and dimensions).
This was a really great project and I learned a lot!
A friend requested a set of eight place mats as a birthday gift for her mother and chose my stash of Asian/Oriental fabrics for the project. I wanted them to be a set, but all different. The above photos are the place mat tops, below the finished mats with unique fronts and backs.
Four front over 4 backs.
This is a small table runner for my mom to put on her galley kitchen table (she lives on a boat). I did the whole thing from cutting to quilting to binding over 3 days and that was a pretty excited to complete something so quickly. I am definitely getting the hang of the hand stitched binding!
