Signed, Sealed, Soon to be Delivered

I finished the binding on the commissioned memory quilt late last night. I gave it a wash to get the spray baste out and then a good once over.

I am really happy with how it turned out and the flexibility that quilt as you go provides.

It's queen-sized and quite heavy with all of the knit fabrics.

It's going in the post this afternoon! I hope it is well loved in it's new home.

Memory Quilt Update

It has been busy here in my little corner of the world, but the memory quilt is getting close to complete. All that is left is hand stitching the binding, a wash and another good once over for good measure.

Memory Quilt Marches On

So this is where I'm at. I need to do another frame around to get it to the size I want, but I am happy with how it's going.

The back as it comes along. Lots of hand quilting still to go.

I had a brief break from the memory quilt on Saturday with a wee quilt in with A and I made this scarf with left overs from the quilt I made for my sister.

Plugging Away

The inner blocks of the memory quilt all trimmed and stacked.

From the top.

All laid out.

Yesterday I attached them in horizontal strips and am hand stitching them on the back, hopefully tomorrow I will get them attached vertically and on to the hand stitching for that and then some frames/borders!

Memory Quilt Project

I was contacted a few weeks ago about making a memory quilt and Tuesday 2 boxes of clothes arrived for me to work with. I got down to business yesterday. My plan is to make it quilt as you go so that I can spray baste and avoid doing a lot of 'unstable' sewing with jersey and other knitted fabrics.

The goods.

It's hard to see the stitching on the front...

... but I think it shows up nicely on the back.

A few quilted blocks.

I am really excited about how this will progress! Stay tuned.

Variation on a 9 Patch

My posting has been lax lately, but I have been working. Here is one of the WiPs that I mentioned last week.

Top parts getting ready to go.

Piecing the back.

The finished top with a cat underneath. Levi, loves sheets of any kind.

Now I just need to piece the rest of the back and head out for more batting. I think it might be time to start buying it by the bolt?!
