Cat Crafter

Finnegan one of our 3 ginger cats loves lounging in the sun and if he can do it on fabric all the better!

This is the top of a quilt for J and I and has been slow in the making, but I am putting the sashing on the front now and have a plan for a pieced back. With the fair behind me, I will have a wee bit of time to work on this before jumping whole hog into Christmas projects. Some commissions are coming my way for the festive season and although Summer is just coming to a close, the Fall will fly by!

Beautiful Day for a Fair

Saturday was a beautiful day for the fair! There folks dressed in period costume, live music all day, good food and great vendors!

Quilts and pillows.

This is mom holding down the fort and knitting away! She was a most excellent helper.

Here are some of the smalls, cards, mug rugs, coasters and kleenex holders.

Sales were mostly from friends, but I had a lot of great feedback from seasoned quilters.

Fair Prep

Tomorrow is the Mallorytown Village Fair. I have spent the morning pricing, packing and taking inventory.

These are the last of the mug rugs that I finished the bindings on last night.

Here is the rest of the stock.

There is one more binding I hope to finish today to have ready for tomorrow. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it will fit in the car!

Headed for the Post

This little collection of mug rugs is headed out in the mail today, Off to Edmonton where I believe they will be making their ways to various new homes. Enjoy!

If you are interested in a mug rug for your morning '_______' (insert morning beverage of choice, I myself am a lemon water drinker), just drop me a line and you too could receive one in the mail.

More Mug Rugs

More mug rugs are in order for the upcoming craft fair, so I went to my scrap drawer and pulled out a random pile of scraps with JB's (cat) help.

I just started slicing and stitching.

This is what I came up with! Now for quilting and binding.

Fabric Printing

I have been thinking about fabric designs lately and just read Lizzy House's book on designing fabric. These pieces are screen printing fabrics stamped on Kona solid fabrics. I'm not sure what I'm making with these yet, but I might just leave them on the design wall to think about it!

Some other inspiring books I have been looking at this weekend are; Over & Over and Hand Job, both by Mike Perry.

Placemats Complete!

It's been a busy month and I have taken much longer to finish these than planned, but last night I finished!
