One of the most rewarding projects I have ever worked on was a memory quilt for a woman who had recently lost her husband. She and her daughter went through his clothes and sent me 2 boxes of clothing to work with. It was several weeks in the making, but it turned out really well. This is what she had to say:

"You are a true artist – you caught the essence of every piece of fabric you used, and your workmanship is incredible. I love how you laid everything out, the way you stitched everything and how all the pieces just flow. You gave Paige and me more than comfort – you gave us a masterpiece that we will cherish forever. I cried and I cried when I saw it – it was like Peter was in the room with us, and it felt so good!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting so much heart and soul into this project – it means the absolute world to us."

After completing this, I was wishing that I had kept some of my father's clothing. I'd certainly like to make more of these.
